1. Read the manufacturer's instructions included with the kit.
2. The torch arrives empty, so you will need to fill it with the butane gas included in the shipment. Please refer to the manufacturer's instructions on how to fill the torch. Replacement butane gas canisters are available in the two largest home improvement stores.
3. Disengage the safety so you can activate the trigger.
4. Press the trigger in. If the torch doesn't light, release the trigger and try again. When the torch is full, adjust the flame to about 50% capacity. You may have to increase the flame size as the torch approaches empty.
5. Light the torch and smoke the wood chips by keeping the flame of the torch about 0.5" above the smoker top with the flame pointed toward the wood chips. You will know when you are in the right place when the glass fills with smoke and all 16 air ports are venting smoke. This takes a little practice.  If you are too close with the torch, it will flame out.  Just relight and try again.  If you are too far away, you will not generate enough heat to smoke the chips.
6. When done smoking the smoke top, release the trigger to turn off the torch and place away from the cocktail so the torch can cool. We do not recommend using the continuous function on the torch.

The tip of the torch becomes very hot after repeated use. Never put it back into the wood humidor or iSeries case while still hot.
